1. Technology can be easily incorporated into the lesson plan because the text that they will read is challenging and readers tend to benefit from discussions about the text to build meaning about the subject. The teacher will read the Gettysburg Address aloud to the group. Then the teacher will provide each student with a copy of the Gettysburg Address. The students will get into small groups and read a sentence that the teacher has preselected for them. They will then research the sentence to learn more about it. The students will then incorporate their sentences into a multigenre mapper. (Section A-Text, Section B- Key Words and Phrases, Section C- Significance, and an illustration). To wrap the lesson, students will write a summary of the Gettysburg Address.

2. The first tool we would use would be a class blog. To accompany the class discussion of their assigned sentences, the students will use a class blog to express their understanding of the assigned sentence and to build off of the other student's knowledge. The second tool we would use would be a podcast. At the end of the lesson, instead of writing a summary of the Gettysburg Address, students will work in their groups and orally present a summary using a podcast.

3. The blog can be helpful because it allows the students to learn from each other. It also allows the students to go back and reflect on the key points of the speech and the comments made. The podcast will support students that have a hard time putting their thoughts in writing.

4. The students will be engaged because it will allow students to use technology (which is fun and exciting). The reflection of the blog will allow learners that need further review of the material to have the additional time needed. The podcast will support oral learners. It will also engage students who struggle with public speaking. It will allow them to present their findings without having to stand in front of their classmates. Podcasts will also be another form of review for students to reflect and provides them with repitition of the lesson.

5. Incorporating technology allows teachers to engage and motivate students in their lesson plans. In today's society, students are constantly exposed to technology both in and out of school. They are often tech savvy and like to use technology. It also allows for continuous interaction and exposure to the lesson.
